2) Due to deforestation in the Amazon forest by the humans, the ants will be unable to hunt for prey due that the plant they inhabit in will be affected by deforestation. This plant provides shelter and allows the ants to cut hair from the stem and use the tiny fibers to create a spongy platform. The spongy platform is also glued together by protein which comes from regurgitated vegetation which will also be affected by the deforestation. The insects caught are also directly or indirectly affected by the deforestation which will mean the lack of food for the insects. The insects drop in number thus causing a domino effect.

The ants make use of the web to catch the insect

The ants farm the fungus and make use of the fungus to exploit protein in the plant to create the web
